With the business entering a new phase of growth post-Series B, expanding beyond Europe into North America, and commercial complexity accelerating, Orbital needed a strategic RevOps leader to unify the revenue engine and build for scale.

Reporting directly to the CRO and sitting within the commercial leadership team, this hire was designed to create predictability and enable growth by bringing commercial functions into a cohesive operating model.

The story of Orbital

Founded in 2018, Orbital is on a mission to change how real estate legal operates, automating the legal segment of every property transaction in the world. Already trusted by leading law firms and commercial property teams across the UK and US, Orbital is building a category defining platform in one of the world’s most valuable and complex markets.

Challenge: A business critical leadership hire under extreme time pressure

This search was business critical and time bound. Orbital had started work on the hire internally but were not seeing the results they needed. At the same time, there were personnel shifts and commercial requirements that created a narrow window to deliver, while still maintaining a very high bar for talent.

Key challenges included:

  • Hyper pace delivery requirements with no compromise on quality
  • A dual continent search across the UK and North America
  • A need for a best in class RevOps leader, able to sit alongside the CRO and operate at leadership level
  • A mandate to build a scalable revenue engine and develop a team, not simply optimise an existing function
  • A requirement for relevant scaling experience at a similar size and stage

Solution: Sprint based search delivery across two continents

We worked closely with Orbital to define the outcomes required from the role and then ran the search in sprints, breaking what is typically a longer process into outcome based phases.
